Week in Review

I’m gonna try to write weekly; it might not be Zoe related or even family related, if we haven’t done anything interesting, but there will be at least something new to look at weekly.  Here’s the lowdown of the past week.

1.  Daddy in charge. Last Friday night, a few of my friends and I went out on the town while Kirk stayed home with Zoe.  We had a nice relaxing meal at a local restaurant called Upstream followed by watching the movie, Sex and the City.  I had never seen an episode of the series when it was on HBO, but I have to admit, I can see why people enjoyed it so much.  The movie was pretty predictable, but I thought the acting was good, and it was nice to have a relaxing evening out with friends.  According to Kirk, things were pretty uneventful on the homefront.  Zoe ate dinner then had a bath and was asleep by 7:30.

2.  Zoe starts walking.  I’ve already written about this; you can check some of the other posts.  She is now walking ~ 10 steps and is able to take a couple of steps, regain her balance, and keep walking a few more steps.  I’ll try to add a video of her first steps soon.

3.  Holy heat.  Charlotte is in the middle of a heat wave; in fact, we set a couple of record highs this past week, and I think yesterday the forecasters were calling for near 100 degree weather.  We’ve tried to stay cool by going to the pool in the afternoon, but the baby pool now feels like a warm bath.  (I’m sure the pee isn’t helping either!)
